Any steel full suspension folders with 20" wheels.

Cheapies and offbrands ok. Thanks in advance.

Should've put a question mark up there, sorry. I guess you can't edit titles.

Pashley Moulton (not a folder but a separable).

I can't think of any modern steel full-suspension folder. You'd have to settle for an auminium suspension fork anyway.

Thanks Jur. Wanted to keep the folding aspect.

The KHS westwood looks promising but does not show in their website. There is a Westwood that is a full size comfort bike, though. I'll keep looking.

Found a Yeah bike FS folder made of steel:

    http://yeah.yeahbike.com/bike-TS060.html

Have not seen it in any stores around here, though. Anybody buy one in the U.S?

I should have put this is my first post, but I'm toying with the idea of putting an IGH in a FS folder. Aluminum can't be bended that easily, but steel can.

From what I gather, you can find a lot of folders where the dropout spacing is already 135mm. From memory, I think all of the high-end IGHs are 135mm.

    Sammyboy, The DT is aluminum.

Lalato, I wanted to get down and dirty with it on trails and such. I guess I can do a thudbuster, but the reviews on those are mixed.

Ah, thank you. I probably would have gotten that if I had thought about it longer. I was just looking at the Rohloff the other day.

    But then again, probably not.

I know, I sell them! It seemed from what you said that the only reason you wanted steel was to cold-set it for an IGH. Since the 8FS has the IGH fitted, no cold setting is required. If however you want steel for another reason, then of course it's not suitable.

I actually got this on ebay, Dahon TS061 CITY Folding Bike:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN:IT&ih=011

I am actually still waiting for the guy to ship it. I am getting the silver color, guy said I had choice of black, silver, or red (that's what he had). I am hoping mine looks like this:

    http://www1.lukeclub.com/viewthread....extra=page%3D1

It will be my first folder, I hope it works out good. I tried the dahon boardwalk s1 single speed at LBS and didn't like it so much. Note that this bike seems to be for shorter folks, I think max 5'8" per the specs I seen.

That was the only FS folder I found made by dahon besides the jetstream which was out of my price. I don't know if it's really a dahon or yeah bike, but it is listed on China's Dahon website:

    http://www.dahon.com.cn/bikes/foldin...cles-urban.htm

And they actually seemed cheap in China, folding bike there seem to be in the 600-1000 RMB ($75 - $125) range, so I am having one shipped to me using ebay.

    Thanks,
    Great3

Sweet stuff, great 3! I think we should rename China as "Bicycle Nirvana". Please post pix when you get it.

Sammyboy, I didn't know DT had a IGH full suspension model. I checked it out, but want to see if I can find something a little cheaper.

As Sammyboy said, if the only reason you want steel is for the IGH, just check specs for rear spacing. Any aluminum bike that has the correct spacing will do just as well. But I'm guessing full suspension is going to cost you a little more regardless, so it may not be as cheap as you want, but that's where I'd start the search: full suspension bikes in your price range. Once you have that, weeding out the ones that are either steel or have the spacing needed for an IGH will take care of the rest.
