I'm wondering too! I can tell you right now, it will compete against the Brompton but not in price. Looking at those pictures told me one thing. This bike is clearly going to cost over ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS! The only way we'll see the bike under $600.00 dollars is if Dahon ships the it with a Sturmey 3 speed like the Curve. I don't see that happening since this is the replacement for the SL.
Furthermore, it will not carry the same price as the Curve SL since Dahon never goes down in price with the new 16' inch models. The Curve SL was more expensive then the Presto Lite which was more than the Presto which was more than the Piccolo. It would not surprise me if we see the Curve costing $1,300.00 dollars plus tax!
Everyone want to see someone make a better 16' inch bike thats on the same level as the Brompton and cost under $400.00 USD. I'm afraid those days are over. LOL! If you want a quality 16' inch bike from Dahon, Brompton or Bike Friday, get ready to spend over 1K.
P.S. Better buy the bike at $1,300.00 dollars while it's still cheap!

So far,the bike's just been vaporware. Looks like it might finally be hitting the dealers this year, though.

If so, the more interesting part would be: Is Brompton going to respond to that, and how?
I guess Dahon would try to make the Curl as non-proprietary as possible to quickly attract a circle of third-party support.
