Mu P8 V-brakes - noodle unhooked

I just got my Mu P8 earlier this month and it's been great to far. It feels good to leave the car in the garage. However, this morning when I hopped on to ride to the train station, I noticed that my front brakes did not work. It looks like the noodle somehow got unhooked. When comparing it with the rear brakes, it looks like there is a piece missing that would hold the noodle in the arm link. Can someone confirm this for me? If this is the case, would they be able to fix it at the LBS or can I fix it myself? I didn't want to try and force anything before I asked around. I also know my bike is under warranty, but if it is something cheap and easy, I rather not wait.

Also, this is my first bike since I had one when I was a kid (15+ years ago), so my technical knowledge is somewhat limited. But I have been reading articles on the sheldonbrown website to familiarize myself with all of the parts and how they work.

pull the rubber boot off. squeeze the brakes together and thread the noodle back onto the fitting and put the rubber boot back on.

Push the rubber sleeve away from the noodle end. Push brakes together - put end into slot.

Nein?

Makes sense, thanks for helping the newbie out. I'll have to wait until lunch time to try. I was so disappointed that I actually had to DRIVE to work today.
