Extra parts/missing parts

I doubt this thread will be useful for anybody, but it was such a strange occurrence I had to share.

Less than two months ago I ordered a Vitesse D7HG. When I had the LBS unbox and set it up (for warranty purposes, the bike is extremely easy to set up), we noticed that Dahon packed extras of some items-- I got two of the rack bungees, two touch-up paints, two pant reflectors, and an extra right pedal! Spares are a good thing.

Last week I ordered a '07 Curve D3. When I unboxed it, it was missing the rack bungee, and--get this--the right pedal! There was a hole in the box big enough to imagine a loose pedal and the bungee falling out, but I just thought it was highly coincidental that I was missing the parts on the curve that I had extras from on the vitesse.

The Dahon gods smiled upon me.

Ah, I know. The 2 boxes were up against each other and during transport the loose bits fell from one box into the other.

Stranger things have happened during transport.
