Brompton Purchase for a Convertible
Thanks to many in this forum I made a decision a few months ago to purchase a folder. If any of you remember I have a very small trunk when my convertible top is up and an even smaller one when it is open.
I ended up with a Brompton, which does fit. For a while I thought I might buy a Birdy (and I still might) but the consensus went from it won’t fit to maybe it might.
I love the Brompton and it certainly meets the need I had for a folder that will fit in my trunk with my car’s top up or down.
I finally took some pictures as I thought the group might want to see what I was talking about.
1) The Brompton all set up with a Brooks saddle and a Ostrich saddle bag.
2) The Brompton in my trunk with the trunk set up for having the roof up.
3) The Brompton in my trunk with the trunk set up for having the convertible top open.
4) Just for fun – my two commuting type bikes – the Brompton along with its cousin a Surly Cross Check recently re-set up for a go to the store bike.
With all this I am still thinking about buying another folder in addition to the Brompton. However that’s a story for another day.

Nice pics. I like the green color with the classic Brooks saddle.

Nice revealing photos. These pictures give me more encouragement into buying a micro car very soon. I want to be sure that my folders-or at least of one them at a time-will fit for sure.

It's a 3 series BMW convertible. The new ones have hardtops instead of soft. Very nice but it does cut down on the space in the trunk.

Glad to see more enthusiasm for steel and folders in Tampa.
Will have to organize a Tampa edition of the Hyde Park rdvu. G.R.

TampaBay Riders?
Are there any more of you? Folders don't seem to be very prominent around here.
