Mudguards for Dahon Cadenza 8 08
Hi,
I'm really sorry if this is a stupid, obvious question, but I am looking for mudguard for my Dahon Cadenza 8 08 and am having some trouble finding some that i'm sure will be compatable.
I'm a bit of a newbie cyclist and no hardly anything about bikes. When I bought this the guys at the shop (Evans) recommended a set of mudguards to me but I haven't been able to fit them as they don't seem to be compatable (they have V stays... can't remember the exact type/make/model).
Can anyone tell me what type of mudguards I need to get to fit this bike? Is it just a standard type? Either way, can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance!
Chris

Are you looking for info on fenders to attach to your wheels or mudguards, which hang off the back of the fenders to give extra coverage?

Thanks for the reply Rosie.
I guess I'm after fenders then... just something to stop getting mud and water up my back!
I think these are the ones I got:
https://www.evanscycles.com/products/...e-atb-ec004917
But the V-stays just don't fit onto the wheel. Is there a special type I need? Or should I just get clip-ons?
Thanks again for any advice.

Oh right, thanks. So can anyone point me in the right direction? I just need to know what kind I need, or even a direct link to where I could buy some online (in the UK) would be great.
Thanks.
Chris
Thanks.

you could use the race blades for 26 inch wheels...... Note these are NOT common in 26 inch ( 700 c 27/28 is available all over )
But a pair of full fenders from SKS will work as well
( just dotn take the real wide one. they look awful on the sleek Cadenza )

Thanks alot for the help.
I'm looking at the SKS ones on this page:
https://www.evanscycles.com/categorie...ull-with-stays
Any chance you could be more specific and let me know which you think would be best ? I just don't want to get another set if I can't fit them again. As I said the last ones I got I just couldn't fit the stays as they don't seem to be compatable with the bike, things on the wheel (both front and back) were in the way.
Just in case, here's a link to the bike I've got, as I know there are 2 types of Cadenza (although I'm sure you guys aren't getting them mixed up).

Thanks again, I really appreciate any help.

My bike shop fitted some SKS hybrid (700c not 26") fenders/mudguards to my cadenza 8. They need the longer stays to bend under the front disc brake. The material is polythene, not chromoplastic and I think they are kept under tension to reduce the radius so they a close fit to the slick tyres and provide very complete coverage.
Ill post a pic of the bend in the stainless steel stays that you need.

I put a pair of planet bike freddy fenders on my 07 cadenza. I had to bend the wire stays abit but they attached with little effort, and work great.

Thanks for the replies.
Maybe I just need to bend the stays up a bit then, I was trying NOT to bend them before not wanting to cause any damage. I think the stays are quite long, so I'll give that another go before buying some new ones.
Thanks again.
