Creaking Bike Friday handlebars

I have an old pair of split flat bars from a Bike Friday mounted on one of my Raleigh 20's. I can't get them to stop squeaking when I push or pull on them, especially on the right side. Any Bike Friday experts out there have advice on how to fix it? I tried putting grease on the bars and the connecting sleeve and tightened all the bolts as much as I can.

I had that on my Swift with my Delta Ergo bars, but lubing with Boshield and tightening everything up cured it.

Maybe it’s the bars way of telling you that they are not happy being fitted to a Raleigh

Could the creaking actually be coming from the steering tube or stem?

That's a good point. I should put a different bar in there and find out.

Thanks. I have been wrapped up with remodeling, job changes, and other boring stuff. Also, I was riding my old Raleigh International all year training for some big event rides.

I have two R20's. One is marooned in Florida because I changed jobs and didn't bring it home on my last trip. I'm working on getting it sent back. The other has been in parts for a long time, I just put it back together and rode it last weekend. I have never had them both running at the same time in the same state. I plan to post some new pics and updating the website when I get them reunited.

I will soon own 5-1/2 bikes (the half bike is a tandem). I just ordered a custom Titanium Davidson road bike.

I got a bottle cage designed to go on the braze-ons and attached it with hose clamps around the seat tube. Here are some other options:

Twofish

Minoura

these 2 bottle cage designed may work...do you need to install or drill any screws to the bike? if not, what is holding these 2 bottle system securely to the bike?

A metal band on the Minoura and an velcro strap on the Twofish

the one that is on your bike pix...it doesn't look like the 2 of the recommendations. is the one on your bike a different model and is it a metal band?
