Primo Comet varieties?
I've seen 20 x 1.5 Primo Comets listed as 'Primo Comet recumbent tyres' on a couple of retail sites and I'm wondering if there's any difference between these and larger versions that BMX retailers stock. I think there's a version with a reflective sidewall, so perhaps those 1.5s are specifically for non-BMX use?

There's no difference between recumbent ones and BMX ones per se.
I have seen them in 1.35-2.0" widths, with and without Kevlar belts, with and without reflective sidewalls, and with gumwall and blackwalls. There you have the whole range.
They are one of the fastest 20" tyres out there, and I think using a 2" one will be better than a Big Apple but I haven't tried it.
They aren't all that tough, I use Slime Liners instead of Kevlar belts which are pretty worthless IMHO. Save your Kevlar money and spend it on Slime Liners, just make sure you sand the ends smooth.

It's hard to find info on them. I seem to recall seeing 2 different stats on the weight for the 1.5 size, either 300 or about 340 grams, but I've not been able to find out the weight of the 1.98 / 2.1. If they're considerably lighter than Big Apples as I'd imagine they would be, I think I'd like to give them a go.
