Swift Swallowtail?

What is the Swift Swallowtail?
A quick search of the forum provided nada. My reference to the "Swift Swallowtail" is from an earlier post in the "swift" thread:

I'm going to take a wild stab here, and guess that somebody heard about something called a Swallow, which weighs less than something called a Swift, and remembered it wrong as "Swallowtail."

Then they assumed the conversation referred to the Xootr Swift. However, the Swift and the Swallow are both names of Brooks saddles, and the Swallow weighs less.

So that's my guess.

Or it's a folding bike so wonderful that it disappears up its own seat tube when folded and now they can't find where they put the prototype.

Thank you all for the replies.

I try to follow some of the longer threads on the swift, but I couldn't find the original reference.

The "Swallowtail" swift is the new steel framed swift folder that has been about to arrive for about the last 2 years.

It is designed by the same chap who did the original (steel) swift.

It is roughly the same size, fold and weight as the current model but has a redesigned rear triangle area that addresses some of the structural issues of the original design.

There's a small pic showing the revised frame (https://www.bikeforums.net/showpost.p...postcount=1584).

The kink in the seat tube gives the bike a "swallowtail".

I stand corrected.

It was a good theory, though.
