Jetstream XP with Pantour Suspension hub and brake problem

I got my Pantour wheel back and I was having a hell of a time getting the front V brakes set. Getting them centered and in toe was no sweat but every time I'd hammer down a hill and lock the front brake it would slide down over the rim a little and hang.

Granted this is a worst case scenario but that's what my brakes better be capable of handling.....is a worst case scenario. And yes I know the brake pads have to ride high on the rim due to the suspension hub. I've got them as high as practical.

So, this bike is used but it's less than a year old and I inspected the front brake cable and it sure looks mighty fine to me.

After trying everything I said what the heck and changed the cable. Problem completely and totally solved. The pads slide down with the suspension hub as designed but not all the way like before.

Don't underestimate your cables.

It must be pre 2008 model, because I just purchased XP model 2008 and it came with German A front suspension .... which is awesome
