what is your favorite discontinued Dahon

a game for people who should be doing better things, like doing the report for the deadline but are bored stiff.

You need to go to the dahon website, and look at the archive of bikes. Then identify your favorite discontinued dahon, and say why.

I nominate:

https://www.dahon.com/archive/2007/intl/mako.htm

I just really love them minivelos, is all, and I don't know of any others dahon ones with drop handlebars.

Never really ridden one, just seen in pictures, but I hear the sweet pea (sp?) was pretty nice, minimalist and light.

Piccolo. Just because I loved, and lost, mine. Her theft still hurts.

*goes off to cry*

I'm going to throw in another vote for Hon Solo. It shares some aesthetic touches with my current favourite Dahon bike, the Smooth Hound.

The Smooth Hound could really benefit from those sweet wood fenders on the Hon Solo.

Now I are reincarnated as a 9/16th spanner (trans: USA: 'Wrench') I nominate the 2007 Dahon Matrix:

https://www.dahon.com/archive/2007/intl/matrix.htm

Why?

1) I bought one. Ok, it was a Friday, and we'd all worked hard.
2) I still have it.
3) It looks like it was designed under the influence of psylocibin; It's got a 'Joe Murray' signature in the frame. That, like, says EVERYTHING.
4) It's completely WEIRD
5) It's a FUNNY COLOUR
6) It doesn't have CAPS LOcK
7) It does mud
8) It does horse poo
9) It's got 'BONKERS' tattooed on its forehead.
9) It can't count
9.5) It FRIGHTENS children
10) There is no number ten.
11) When you buy it, it's got the wrong tyres on it.
12) It's quite nice, in an understated, funny-shaped kinda way. It's also a good XC bike, and it fits in the back of your economy sedan.
13) Quite good off-road. Are you listening? Hello?

Thank you.

s.

I have a new Piccolo that I bought last year, it was new in the box, I rode it 2 miles and decided it wasnt for me. I paid $230 for it, I will sell it for that if anyone is interested.

It's actually a better ride than some other dahons...built like a tank, and not flexy at all! Heavy as heck though.
