Family of Folders.

The Dahon Ciao is the wifes'.

The Kent is my 7 yr old's son. Short cranks were good for his short legs. It came with a 3sp Nexus which he makes good use of.

The Dahon Piccolo is my daughters' and I ride the Curve/Boardwalk.

Welcome to the forums. You've got a beautiful family there. You should be proud! :thumb:

Thanks KitN,

My family typically rides on trail along the lake when Spring/Summer comes. We just fold up all the bikes and load them into SUV cargo area (no need for a bike rack). My kids really enjoy it so its a family affair.

Dahon Ciao

Your wife's Ciao is gorgeous. Would love to hear how she's liking her bike, as there are few reports from Dahon Ciao owners. How does it perform as compared to the other bikes in your family? Any info would be appreciated.

Is the piccolo's fork set up on the wrong direction on purpose?

it looks odd. but upon close examination it seems that the fork is ok since the brakes are installed correctly. but when you look at the handlepost it seems not properly installed. it is leaning more to the back when in fact it should lean more on the front. this need to be checked by LBS, not unless it's the LBS who fixed this.

I recently got a Piccolo myself. From my own experience, the front does seem like it's turn backward. The folding hinge should be on the right instead of left. Not sure how it will affect the safety/performance tho...

I think that it's cool that your family all ride folders. Very practical solution to pack all the bikes in one vehicle to go out on a family outing.

Happy trails,

Rosie8: My wife loves it. I've only ridden it a couple times but its surprisingly solid even with the underhung frame. Her sister and friend like its so much it they are considering buying one as well.

Joako: Yes, the handle bars were reversed on purpose as the reach was too far for my daughter. However the fold is still good as it HB folds to the outside instead of inside the two wheels.

vmelon: My daughter doesn't ride it hard, but I plan to reverse it back once she get's older.

vmaniqui: The bag is a Delta Top Trunk Bag I got from Amazon. Its a nice bag and I would recommend it.

edwong4: Thanks for the comments.

Wow nice bikes! Looks like you've traveled quite a bit with the bikes esp the Raleigh 20. How do you transport it on the plane? Samsonite?
