Got my Citizen Folder

Well, the FedEX truck delivered my Citizen Miami yesterday. I got both of them together and rode them. They worked find. Now my problem is folding them up. I take the latch loose, but I can't get the hinge to open up so it will fold. Is there some trick or magic spell I have to do to get them to work?

My Citizen Tokyo arrived with the socket for the pin that latches the bike closed slightly out of alignment so that the pin didn't slide up and down easily as it is supposed to do. I used a monkey wrench and very gently bent the socket just enough that the pin goes up and down easily. Before I fixed it, I had somehow managed to get the bike closed, but couldn't open it, because the pin wouldn't release - I had to use a hammer and an old screwdriver to gently tap the pin from underneath to get it out of the latched position.

I'm able to get the pin/latch out, it just won't open the socket and fold the frame.

I finally found the secret handshake to get the latch open. I called Citizen Bike when I couldn't find any instruction on how to open it. Thanks for all your help in this.

Any updates to report? Do you use your bike a lot or have you had problems that make you not want to ride it?

In general, I'm happy with them. My wife messed up her knee and hasn't been able to ride hers but one or two times. If I had to do it over again, I think I would have gotten a Downtube for me and waited for her to heal up to get her one.

Your Miami may grow on you. I get more use out of my CB Tokyo than my Downtube 8FS.

I have had my Miami Citizens since May, have taken it on public transportation and around town,, I ride with my little dog in her basket attached to the handlebars. I have to say, I love mine and I am now hooked on foldable bikes!
