Folders and indoor trainers

Has anyone attempted to hook up a folder with 20 inch wheels/tires to an indoor stationary trainer?

As far as I know, trainers are made for 700c, possibly 26" wheels.

You could try rollers. Given the cost though, you might as well check into a stationery bicycle exercise machine as well.

I have it worked fine with a 20". I could not use a 16" bike though as it did not adjust low enough. This was on a magnetic rear wheel only trainer like a turbo trainer. I can also use it as a work stand

Most trainers do not work with 20" wheels. Long story short, the wheel doesn't reach the roller when clamped in the trainer. Some manufacturers sell adaptors for their trainers.

I've read that trainers can put strange stresses on frames. I wonder if folders would be more suseptible to them. I'll see if I can dig up the reference.

I tried to get a trainer for my folder but it has DualDrive and the clickbox interferes with the trainer hookup.

Just to confirm a "Gist" magnetic trainer fitted and worked absolutely fine with my 20" bike, no problems what so ever. None.

Check out the trainer before you buy it for use with a folder, I advise, but it prevents no problems if it fits.

I dont known if they have fixed the design ,but the tighting plastic lever broke off very quickly.Simply fixed though I just lever a old pair off mole grips on instead to act as a lever.

See another trainer to fit small wheeled bike.
Dont know if its just for the "BIgfish" folding bike, which I think is 305 rather than 349 or 20"(406) wheel size.
