One 5 speed hub and one rear sprocket is 5 speed. So two front chain rings. That is not usual on a Brompton.
(Steve Parry did it, so I've heard).

EvilV has a Parry™ front derailleur clamp and twin chainset [2x3=6speed]on his Merc I believe.
I think the five speed might be a Sturmey 5?
