The thing about those old Moultons is that they ride so well - in my opinion as good as a full size bike.
I'm pleased to see the prices rising because we are less likely to see them dumped. Anyone who pays several hundred dollars for one will look after it.
I've got a complete but tatty one in my shed, and it still exceeds my expectations when I take it out for a trot - apart from the original brakes which are dire

Yes, the high prices in an auction reflects the quality of the design. I think the point being made by the OP, is that this greedy sod is buying cheap, usually when only a local pick up is offered. Getting home, taking some pictures, then slapping the bike back on eBay at something like a 200% + mark up. Everyone deserves to make a profit. The problem for me is that he is doing nothing to warrant a profit. It's greedy and it's lazy. Furthermore, he has recently joined the Moulton Club. Which is designed to restore and preserve these wonderful machines. As far as I can see, he has joined only to advertise his overpriced bikes, and to gain access to relatively cheap club prices.

An MK3 sold yesterday for $375 on eBay too, but it definitely wasn't in half as good shape as mine was.
