Firstly, it isn't the most compact, that would be the A Bike at 26x12x6, versus this one's 26x26x9, secondly: https://www.bikeforums.net/folding-bikes/569800-contortionist-new-folding-mountain-bike-design.html

The most compact relative to it's size. I hardly call the A-bike a bike more like a toy but ok.

There's another thread on this. Also, note that this bike has neither brakes nor a chain. So it's note really a "bike."

I don't see a chain either but I do see a crank set, brake levers on the handlebar, and rotors on the wheels so the intention is to be a bicycle.

It is still a remarkable feat that any bike can be folded to stay within it's wheels outer dimensions. I thought that if the inventor developed a 20 inch version, then in theory you can wind up with the most compact folding bike on the planet, but then I realized that this might not be possible as the frame would have to fold very small, and it might not be rideable by a grown adult when unfolded, but maybe I'm wrong.

The inventor is saying that he has circumvented the lack of chain by using hydraulics, but every attempt to use this system has failed due to it's hopelessly bad efficiency. He also says that he has designed a chain version, that should be fun to fold / unfold
