My latest DT modifications....

Hey all.

it's been a while since my last posting. You'll see I've been a bit busy with things. First was an upgrade to my front suspension fork. Then having lost my car to a blown engine I decided to go green and ride to work. I can conquer hills But doing it in style!! Check it out folks!

on her maiden voyage.....

Can you spot the subtle changes???

errrr, that's was just a test run. I still had a few gears to shift up to but decided I should take some time to get use to the setup, weight and handling of the bike.

I'll post more on the electric section of Bike Forums later on...

Cheers,

Norman

What did you do with that handlepost. Looks like some threadless handlepost...very interesting!

Well, it can still fold nice and tight, minus the folding the steering stem. However at the added 30+ lbs this motor and battery kit added it is very cumbersome to roll folded. All together the bike weighs around 60 lbs.

Good observation K6-III. There was some mix and matching with components as the Carbon Fiber suspension fork only came in a 1" steerer tube. So first I had to knock out the OEM 1 1/8" headset, put in a threadless 1 1/8" headset, then add a reducer to fit the 1" steerer. Afterwards I slipped a 1 1/8" aluminum tube with a 1" inner diameter, cut a slot at the bottom for crimping and slipped on two seatpost collars to secure the post to the steerer tube. Been riding this setup with no problems. Was inspired to do this by fellow member maunakea

The Mauna Kea bike

Cheers,

Norman

Looks great. What kind of batteries are you using? Can I get a close up of that bracket that you crafted to hold the motor on the 2nd seattube?
