Any Brompton owners care to share if the three speed of S3L sufficient for general riding. Do you miss the limited gears or do you recommend to go for six speed?

Guess that depends on where you ride re: flat or hilly.I live where its fairly flat except for a valley which splits my city in half.I have a single speed Brommie and am quite happy,unless the hill is super steep i can make it up.Ones i cant i walk,still exercise.Anyway im 63 years old and not powerfully built but in reasonably good shape.Hope this helps?Have considered converting to two speed,easily done,got a hill id like to tackle.

I want a bike that rides and folds like a Tikit but down to the size of a Brompton (with the cool suitcase) but has the suspension of a Moulton but costs less than 100 pesos but has a lifetime warranty but can change colour according to my mood but can also be a mountain bike but cant get hit by a car and I want it for my birthday which is not for 8 months but I want it TODAY!!!!
oh, and if possible, can I have a Rohloff hub with that?

A buddy owns one of each.
No contest about folding them , but the Birdy feels clearly faster. I guess it it due the fact that it has the pivot point of the rear swing arm in the chain line, while the Brompton it has it way off the chain line. That will generate "pedal bobbing" which is more or less a waste of energy. Where I work we make MTBs , full suspended XC MTBs are designed around avoiding the pedal bobbing as much as possible, else the bike is not efficient. Then, I guess the brommy flex more because of geometry (the Birdy has a way taller frame and no bobbing). That is an other waste of energy.
Maybe we should start suggesting Brompton to think about raising the pivot point to bring it closer to the chain line.....
