Anyone Here Own a Breezer Zig7 or Zag8?
I see a lot of other bikes being discussed here but not the Breezers. These two bikes seem comparable in cost and quality to the rest of the field of $400 - $700 folders. Breezer is well known for their full sized transportation bikes and the folders look like they have good reinforced non-suspension frames, quality components and a good riding position. I'm pretty sure they use a licensed Dahon latch.

Both of the bikes are essentially re-badged Dahons. Dahon licenses their tech to other companies. REI's folding bike (Buzz Flyby?) is also a Dahon in disguise.
The entire Breezer line of bikes are just rebadged bikes. The i3 is, I think, an Oyama. I can't recall who makes the itzy. --sam |
what model Dahons?
|
they look like Dahon Speeds with additional reinforcement at the seat tube-top tube joint plus some extras, at a better cost than the Dahons, but maybe they are older models.

The Dahon-licensed bikes tend to be slightly older models/technology. There is a company named Yeah (yeahbike.com) that only sells Dahon tech-based bikes. If you look at them, they look like older Dahons.
I don't know what model the Breezer bikes are based off of... I never delved that far into it. --sam EDIT: I said Bazooka earlier, changed to Breezer (I blame the Bazooka ad to the right) |
Dahon and the rest of the bicycle manufacturers seem to have gone the way of the motorcar business, introducing new models and styles every year. I'm not sure I see the necessity of doing that. But it does occasionally make for some good deals on last year's model.
