Dahon pronunciation

I have a Dahon folding bicycle, and I work at a shop that sells them. I was wondering about the pronunciation of the name of the company. I know the name comes from the founder's name: Dr. David Hon. So should it be pronounced "Day-Hon"? Or as I pronounce it, is it "Duh-Hon". I know this is inconsequential and people will say it however they like in the end, but how do the people AT Dahon say it?

Having pronounced it incorrectly for several years, I'm struggling to say it right, too.

In Mandarin it's da hang (大行)-- more or less like the guy in the above-linked video says it. Your mileage may vary by dialect.

Given his last name, David Hon is, likely, of Cantonese or related descent. So it'd be "Hawn".

As his first name is David, I too vote for "Day-Hawn". Though obviously that's not how Dahon seems to want to pronounce it.... ("Duh-hawn").

BTW: "feijai" is also a Cantonese word. No, I'm Caucasian.

Edit: Should have looked more carefully at the actual *character* rather than romanization of David's last name: 行 ("walk") is "Hahng" in Cantonese, not "Hawn". So he ain't Cantonese, or possibly his name is one of those romanizations the British butchered.

Notwithstanding, based on its spelling, his last name is still probably pronounced "hawn". Just wonder what the descent is.

Another BTW: does David have a brother who cofounded Dahon?

I like to call or refer to my own Dahon simply as "that bike" or "the bikes" (as I own 2) in an affectionate way.
