Just to update this thread (which other D7 owners will find): use the new 2014+ GS1 Ergon single Twist shifters ERGON BIKE ERGONOMICS . The single has the shorter righthand side teamed up with a regular length on the left side. The removable adaptor ring helps with sizing next to the Dahon gripshift .

I use 2 finger Levers on My Brompton .. Ergon grip shift GR3 Lever Barend combo. ..

maybe you need to Buy 4 finger levers as described above to be happy.

if anything a shorter grip combo leaves little space for My Hands between a grip shifter & the Bar End.

Brompton shifter is not a Grip so thats OK. my thumb has space behind the brake Lever.

there is a 1" gap I filled wit a cut section of Round Gri[p

Left side eliminate the plastic thing between the Grip Bell and the brake lever, you dont need it, a little tape around the handlebar
is enough to keep the inside sleeve in place, so the outside part rotates around it, to make it go Ding.

I have 2 grip bells, thats what I Did .. R'off grip shifter, on the other side of Mine.. with 2 finger brake levers..

Your brakes levers are ok

Hi,

Your brakes are in a fine position. The lever only should be pulled with two fingers not with entire hand, this way you keep control in handlebar and gearing.
