Well kind of similar but not exactly. On a CarryMe you have only one of the big wheels on the ground and the other a bit higher up. Say 30 Ctmtr or so. So you have only one wheel to pull it on (apart from the extremely small trolley wheels) while here you have both wheels parallel with each other and that is more practical. Like Strida they even have a lock mechanism to help that feature.

Looks like a mix betwen Carryme and Strida, but like many chinese folders out there it doesn't seem to be available in the west.

I am not good at determining quality based on text and pictures.
What one would need is a local Japan Bike folder enthusiast maybe a freelance reporter or Blogger that visit one of these places and ask for to test drive one or that those who talk Japanese look for at their Bike forums for those who have bought one and can tell how it feels compared to known folders they have used.
Japan has many enthusiast folder users so it only depends on finding someone who feel for looking around or them making a phone call to to the bike dealers.
My naive take is that it looks interesting. Very practical that one lock the wheels so it roll like Strida but have a more conventional way to adjust seat height.
14" is a bit small compared to 20" but Carryme is even smaller wheels and we do have enthusiastic users of that one here in the forum so if one adjust onself 14 would work.
I have for years used a very old "MicroBike" Swedish folder and that one had 12" wheel and I love that bike. Rides better than almost every other folder I tested. so 14" is not a problem for me.
But to buy one from Japan without knowing more about it is not so motivating just now.
I am an old guy and as my username suggest not the strongest Biker around.
I am more into flashy pimped up Rollators/Walkers than real bikes. *Big Friendly Smile*

I think for the size of the fold, a Dahon Curve with 16" wheels would be a better choice. However I am just happy to see more folding bikes proliferate. I really think that folding bikes are indeed an important answer to the issue of personal urban transportation.

I went to Cyclemode International Tokyo yesterday and took a few photos at the 5 Links display booth. This was one of the 2 bikes I really wanted to test ride but didn`t have enough time - the other being the Tyrell FX which I did manage to take for a quick spin.

checking out the main website and you are looking at around $800USD before the add ons like fenders, nice bike racks and bag and stuff it's not cheap after you add on shipping all the way from Japan. Also calculating gear inches it's giving me around 52 gear inches which is lower than my 18 inch strida but with a normal chainwheel there's potential that you can easily buy a bigger chain wheel and slap it on to increase gear inches. One thing that i'm concerned about is the ability to add those 14inch schwalble big apples for some nice ride. Not sure if i'm too interested because most of the 14 inch tires I see are lower pressure (55psi max for the BA's). I like riding on 80+ psi tires cause most of my road is pretty good.

I agree, 52 gear inches for the single speed is too low. FYI - at the show they were showcasing two new models. One had a 7 speed derailleur and the other a 3 speed nexus IGH.

I just revisited your pics and it does looks like multispeed. dang i didn't catch that! and the top bike in the 2nd pic has a HONKIN huge chainring! wow! I like it. it's a very interesting bike though the thing i like there is the seatpost doesn't need readjusting everytime. It's these little things that gets to me and makes a huge difference.
