Calling all Dawes Kingpin folder (vintage) owners
Hi,
I just got my Dawes Kingpin folder frame and would appreciate your help with the following:
1. What are you using for a bottom bracket axle ? (I almost sure that the cottered bottom bracket can be replaced with a square tapered version)
2. The frame was sent without the folding hinge - can someone check and tell me what is diameter of the bolt ?
Thanks !

pretty old thread but no response. I think i read somewhere the bolt is standard and can be purchased at hardware stores. So perhaps bring it in and try it until it fits.

I doubt the original poster is still reading, but in case anyone else stumbles across this:
The bottom bracket uses standard threading (unlike the R20), so it should be no problem to upgrade to a modern unit (although I haven't gotten to the point of doing this myself yet).
The bold diameter is about 10mm. Again, I believe this is a standard part.
