Dahon Mu XL

Was browsing the Dahon website and noticed this bike. I think it's amongst the best-looking of the Dahon range. Gorgeous:

Though once again is there something odd going on with the stated weights? With a higher end wheelset plus I-beam seat post / saddle it still comes in as heavier than the Vitesse D7HG which has a clunker of a crankset and low-end wheels.

Maybe is that new stem? Also the 8 speed hub weights a bit more than the 7 speed. I also noticed that Dahon is coming out with various models with a belt instead of a chain like the MU XL above.

The new high-end Dahons look great. Even better in the flesh.

The new stem must be the subject of the additional weight. It also has more backward angle. Better get the one from the Mu EX.

it is not a belt - it has a regular chain but with a flexible (spiral) plastic cover
