Price for a 2004/5 Boardwalk D6?

Hi,

I am about to purchase a Dahon Boardwalk D6 that is in pretty good condition (not mint, but rarely ridden) from a coworker and I want some outside opinion as to a fair price.

I would love to get it for around $100, but would that be cheating him? I have only found outdated posts on this subject and would love some up to the minute feedback.

Thanks!!

$125 would seem more than fair. You might want to see what YEAH Bikes are selling for. They are 6-speed Dahon licensed product sold for a while by Camping World.

That 6-speed Adventurer now being sold by Camping World is no way the same quality as a 2005 Dahon Boardwalk! The reference to 'Titainium' has to be a reference to the paint color. The bike weight is shown as 42.5 lbs (likely the shipping weight).

My 2005 Boardwalk S1, which I got on sale at Camping World for only $129. (an absolute steal!) is also a better bike in my opinion.

FYI: A D6 is likely a 2004 model.

Do you think the coaster brake could be swapped for a two-speed hub?

Aside from the legacy Bendix and Duomatics hubs, I hear Sturmey-Archer is coming out with new kickback 2-speeds this summer, the S2C and S2.

Aside from the legacy Bendix and Duomatics hubs, I hear Sturmey-Archer is coming out with shiny new kickback 2-speeds this summer, the S2C and S2.
