Not to sound ageist or something but from the pics most of it's demographic there are old brits heh. Probably the young ones don't have the piggy bank big enough to justify such a crazy trophy bike.
I've never seen a moulton in real life where I live. Just a bunch of hipsters and typical road/mtn bikes in the downtown region. And a brompton ONCE! while the rest are dahons (very few folders mostly full size where i'm at).

Most cycle purchases are heavily influenced by fashion: many mountain bikes are bought for their rugged looks and never venture off-road, and many racer-style road bikes are never ridden either quickly, or competitively. Older people tend not to slavishly follow trends and tend to look for objects that will provide solutions to their problems, caring little for what others think. They also tend to have more disposable income and can afford low-volume (and therefore expensive) cycles. I would say that most Moultons are not 'trophy bikes'; they are merely outward signs of independent thinking.

The young set are only interested in posing on their carbon orbeas wearing full team getups. It's when you shed that baggage that Moultons become interesting.
