New bike considerations

Hello,

So Ive been looking to find a nice folder for around campus use/ using it in new york city, potentially taking it on the subway. I accuired a Raleigh twenty a while back, but it isnt quite working out. I love the aesthetic of the Raleigh, but it is much too heavy and it has too poor of a fold to comfortably go on a train/ into class with me. So I was hoping for a reccomendation:

-Hopefully larger than 16" wheels
-Not too heavy
-Lets say sub $500 for now; unless you are AMAZING at convincing people.

Most of the folders Ive looked at Ive LOVED but are sadly out of my pricerange. I wish I already had a bike, then I would put in the work to fix up the Twenty, but for now, I need something more immediate. Thanks!

Where are you located? There might be a decent deal on Craigslist.

Search for "folding bike" or "folding bicycle" on NYC Craigslist. There are always many for sell.

Yes, I am in new york, and I have been checking craigslist from time to time. Hopefully Ill find something worth while. And boy do I want that speed p8. Im not making the buy right now, I dont have the money on hand, I planned to do it in the near future, so I cant pull the trigger just yet.

I was also considering the downtube nova. It looks really nice, and relatively affordable too. Ill check that thread to see if anyone has tried going on the subway with it.

Thanks guys, any more recommendation?

If you're trying to stay on the value end of the pool, you might also consider Citizen Bike. Their latest offerings appear to be decent quality.
