Thor has some older new old stock Dahon Boardwalks for $150 shipped in the USA. Utah Trikes has the 3 speed SA hub/rim with shifter for $50 plus shipping. You would just need to come up with a rear brake and you could have a decent three speed at about half the cost of a Curve.

Cool.
That 3 spd looks like it has an arm for those coaster brakes.
What's the shipping for the 3 speed?

Contact Utah Trikes and they can give you a quote on shipping.

I see people have started noticing the conversion I was doing using Utah Trike's nicely priced wheel.

Shipping cost me $9 to Pennsylvania. Note that it comes with a T20 gear as a default.

I did notice and thought putting those two deals together may help someone. I am almost tempted.

That is a killer price for a IGH in a wheel. Ordered one for my cyclone conversion. I'll need a different sproket though. Probably 14T for the gear range I want.

What do the rear forks on a Broadway look like? Vertical dropouts may complicate putting in an IGH.

not coaster brake - freewheel hub, 130 mm spacing, the 'arm' is for the shift cable. I ordered two, one for a zoobomb minibike project, the second as a backup for the '07 8-spd SA hub on my Downtube 9FH, as I expect the 8-spd hub to fail eventually.

The garage sale Boardwalks from Thor appear to be soldout.

Been there, done that. Rather put my time, money, components, and accessories to a far better use.
See below for old comments & photos of my own upgraded AW 3 speed Boardwalk before it's soon to be changed forever.
By the way the frame for an Boardwalk S1 is a horizontal one-perfect for an internal hub, fixie, or the like. Being steel it can be modified to whatever width the hub is as Dahon's hubs might not match perfectly without some modifications to the dropouts (my own Boardwalk S1 did not).
