Weight limits on folders

Erm this is a little embarrassing but yes, my fat ass is above the weight limit on the current crop of Downtube Novas. I was hoping to wait out for a new batch of 2010s from Downtube but at the moment it looks like Yan is clearing inventory so probably won't be stocking the new bikes for a while... which apparently will be more expensive than the 2009s for lots of reasons. Anyway... don't like the color or SA hub on the other models which brings me to the Nova. Is 10-15 lbs over the limit dangerous or am I just pushing the longevity of the bike? I'd rather not have the frame crack mid-ride but I'm assuming the weight tolerances are less about the welds and more about the components.

There are some generously proportioned chaps reporting seat post or chain stay fractures on their bikes in various forums, so it pays to be wary.

I weigh 68 Kg, but snapped a seat-tube riding an MTB down a flight of stairs. It's not always the mass, but what you do with it. I should have stood up.

Once you get cycling though, the pounds drop off.
