Remember back in '95 when you could get a carbon Raleigh Twenty for a grand?
https://rochester.craigslist.org/bik/1840253669.html
I found an ad for a Raleigh Twenty for $255. Of course that would have been in the 70's or early 80's when they were actually in production. I really had no idea what they went for new, just that it was well under $1,000.
Funny thing is that even with all the misinformation, the bike looks like it might be in good shape and, if so, the price isn't bad.
And of course if it really is the elusive carbon Raleigh Twenty from the mid 90's, the price is fantastic!

Another veiled, yet spiteful pun,
Pointed mockingly at the hallowed R20,
Your callous, cruel, snide remarks aplenty
Why can't you just let them.....
Rust in peace?
Shallow embittered wench. lol

I have a friend whose second career is to go over to England and buy (or scavenge) up all the R20's he can find, fill a shipping container with them, ship it to Houston and sell them on Ebay. He figures he can clear $20,000 a load. I say go for it! And while he's at it, I told him he should fill another container with F-frame Moultons, which seem to be really cheap and available in the 'Isles, but rarer than hen's teeth here.

It's a fair trade. In return the US has given us spray-on pancake mix, ballpoint pens which write upside down in space, and Tiny Tim.
Please, help yourselves to all the R20's you can.

Snafu21,
You took the bait.....hook, line and sinker, ha ha.
You are right of course, but I still love 'em for all the faults you outlined in your barrage.
Remember the Morris Mini?
I sunk more than 25 grand into restoring a hot version, beautiful car, but it still was a 1960s car when I finished
The R20 is the same.

You prod me with self-confessed inciteful abuse disguised as humour: a 'shallow, cruel, callous, snide embittered wench' and bury your insults in execrable doggerel?
I think it is you who has fallen into a trap.

Thanks,
You see with Aussies, we stir those who we like....in a platonic sense.
It's a sort of, "Hey, you like what I like, (cycling), I'm going to tease/stir/take the mickey out of you to show you I accept you as a peer.

Awww.....that is exactly what I want-though not spend as much-when I finish my own restoration & upgrade of my own Twenty. These vehicles never go out of fashion or desire.....no matter where you live (I hope to photograph my Twenty with this same Morris Minor-this Mini has added more upgrades since this photo was taken-just as soon as the bike is ready).....

Mine was deep burgundy metallic with a silver metallic roof, 12" minilites, big disc front brakes, twin tanks, 1330 modded engine.....It flew!!
I have a friend that prepares Cooper S cars for rallies so I can get some great shots with my R20s..... stay tuned
