Boris Johnson: "This is the Future of cycling" (compact, lightweight foldable bikes)

I thought this was worth a thread!

The Mayor of London thinks folding bikes(or at least the CarryMe) are the future.

I met the Mayor on the London Skyride He asked me how much my bike weight, I told him to guess, he lifted the bike with 1 finger! and said that this was the future

There was loads of photographers,my friend could only get this 2 pictures, they quite bad... Maybe some will make the newspapers tomorrow? if so please let me know with the excitement I forgot to ask who they where!

You don't have to shill, you know. We already have a resident Carryme enthusiast.

But yeah, of course it's the future. All this business about super 8" wheels is simply irrational.

I came across a blip that looked like a Carry Me for a heavier folk ... larger diameter seatpost, etc.

Unfortunately, I talked to Secret Service and they would not let me bring a small bike inside.

He, uh, said this in the middle of a massive Tube strike right?

And he is a politician, right? Let me see if I can find that grain of salt to toss over my left shoulder...

Wow! A politician told you what you wanted to hear. That's a first. ;-)
