The first day I took my bike to work I had to fold and unfold it several times for co-workers who couldn't quite believe it was a folding bike. They just thought it was a cool looking extra small bike. Only one person immediately knew it was a folding bike.

And as he said, "This ain't the folding bike my daddy use to ride".

I liked the headline of the article: "The Folding Bike Goes Cool". But the content of the article was very lightweight and uninformative. And I can't understand the rationale for the bikes he chose to represent cool folders.

...but it seems "cool" if you don't know a lot about folders.

FYI: That gravel racer is $2,100+ with S&S Couplers. Taking it apart and carrying it into a store would be fun, too.

WSJ article

Agree the article is not very good. The article lets people think $1,235 is the price for the gravel racer all ready to go with the airport case. Wish they would have just tested bikes in the same price range and same style. Then reported how the bikes were for getting on and off subway, buses, riding around the city, ease of covering(Don't think the Puma makes a cover and would be tough to do so if it has the basket style handle bars) and riding around through the parks. Just letting some of their younger writers and/or interns use them for a couple of weeks and report what they find would have been better.
