Well, this bike doesn't actually fold but it has small wheels so I thought it might be of some interest here. It is real fun to ride.

Wow that's a lot of stuff on one bike, like an exercise of how many gadgets can you fit on a single bike.

A Rohloff, a Schlumpf AND a front derailer??

Looks to me he does have dérailleur with single chain ring...? Maybe dérailleur is left as chain drop guard of sort? Pretty neat configuration... Do you feel added resistance for using 2 internal gear system vs. say just one IGH or straight dérailleur?

There are two chainrings in front, a 46 tooth and 49 tooth. Because they are so close it looks like one in the picture. The primary purpose of the closely spaced chain rings is to provide closer spacing between the gears than the Rohloff's 13.5% and not the usual purpose of providing extra range. The 46 and 49 chain rings provide a 6.5% change.

When not engaged the Schlumph adds practically no friction at all and very little when engaged. The joint effect of the Speed drive plus the Rohloff is a bit more noticeable though because when the Speed drive is engaged it is increasing the rate at which the cog is turned by 1.65 and this in turn increases the speed at which the innards of the Rohloff are spinning and this does noticeably increases the friction. Because of this I try to only engage the Speedhub when it is needed, ie. to get the top end of the gear inches.
