Help with Peugeot Folding Bike questions

Does anyone here know anything about Peugeot folding bikes? Or experts to help in determination. I am looking at buying a bike that the lady says is 2-3 years old but it seems like its from the 80s. It's very clean but the speed shifter and the pedals all look like they are not contemporary from 2-3 yrs ago. I can send you images if anyone can help determine if indeed they are making the bike this way or if it is indeed older than they say. Not they are liars, maybe they just dont know. Maybe this bike is vintage and is worth buying to sell as a collectors item. If anyone can help, email me ladyenoki at gmail dot com

I have one. 1970s "U" frame Italian built 20" wheels. If its a 3 speed Sturmey Archer the hub will have a year and month date on it. Mine for example says 76 8. Would need a picture to confirm this but would guess I am correct. If in perfect condition it still is worth $50 to $100. Roger

Birdys were marketed as rebadged Peugeots in Japan. If it has suspension, it could be one of those.

Sorry it took so long to reply. With your piece of information we were able to date the bike because it does have a sturmey archer. Mine is 84 12 (mine since I bought it and its older than i am). I really appreciate the quick reply. I actually love the little bike. Nobody has given it love for the past several years at least since there is no rust anywhere on it. It's in pretty mint condition. The front tire recently exploded so I am in the process of replacing both of those. Everything else works fine, just had brake pads replaced and kickstand replaced since it was short and unstable and useless. Though I ordered black tires with white walls for it, I was desperately trying to find cream colored ones but to no avail. I dont really think white would go with it but I dont know. Something about the cream tires draws me. The frame is a nice dark Navy blue.
