New Folder Build up started
I found this bike a couple of years ago in an Iowa City thrift store for $40. It started life as a Rolling Rock Promo bike. I have positively dated the bike as a 2002, when I started disassembly I found dating on a couple of components from late 2001.
The frame is consistent with the 2002 Dahon Mariner 26, there is also a tag that says to have the bike adjusted by a Dahon technician.
Build is going to consist of Shimano Nexus 8 red band on the rear, Sanyo dyno hub on the front, CR-18 rims, still trying to decide on the handle bars, fenders and a rack if I can find one that I like that will fit.
This is going to become my truck bike, it will fold enough that it can be tossed on top of the load or be tucked away in a company trailer on the way to my out of town jobs.
I have been using one of my Raleigh Twentys but the gearing and risk of damaging the bike have kept use down (trucks have gotten fuller and smaller).

Cool looking bike. The way the seat stay angle matches the top tube, looks a little like an Airnimal Joey.

I was so excited to see those Joey-esque qualities that I actually looked at Dahon's current bigger wheel (24"/26") offerings for the first time ever this afternoon - but none of them have the Joey vibe of Aaron's find.

It had the Rolling Rock logos on there at some point, there is a huge sticky area. The picture of the original large logo came of the net.
It still has them on the stays, unfortunately I don't believe RR is made in Latrobe, PA anymore. It is made in Newark, NJ
