that would be Vieques......
interesting island..half of it is off limits due to non detenotated ordinance from 10 years ago.
At that time Vieques was home to 2000 plus US personal, the locals were doing a great job with retsaurants and entertainment ....Than the training stopped all the military was urged to leave.... now ... a few local restaurants and trinket shops and 80 % unemployement. Quite a bit of criminality and harrassment of the few charter boats who have the guts to sail there totally off the beaten path. If your leave your dinghy on the dock unlockes its gone... the gas tank better be locked to the motor and the cap better be locked as well as otherwise the gas is gone ..... and and and .... Vieques is a very cool place but somewaht unfriendly and even dangerous ( drunken juveniles on a dinghy trying to board the boat in the middle of the night ... etc )
