If there is a good testemonial for Llama, it's this. At the same time we don't know if the bike has developed squeeking/creaking issue or something else. We also don't know how many km Heinz put on it. He's had it "only" since 2009.

My guess he probably put more KMs on it in that time than I will put on my NWT before I die!...

Vik, maybe, maybe not. It would really help if he could mention more about this bike. This Llama is a bike I'm eyeing very seriously (asa the money becomes available). I've read several on-line articles by Heinz, about his travels, and in those he didn't say basically anything about the Llama. Vik, is your NWT still squeek/creak free? I'm asking 'cause I wouldn't want to spend almost 2 thousand bucks and end up with a creaky contraption, such as with my Dahon. Llama has a sturdier frame and wider tires than NWT.

None of my Bike Friday's make any noise. I'm not sure why you ask the design in question isn't really prone to get squeaky. You could possibly get a squeak out of a Brooks saddle, a BB/crank or a hub, but not the frame itself.

My oldest BF is a Tikit that's coming up on 4yrs in service and it's not much different in terms of how it rides than when I bought it. I got rid of a newer Tikit recently and kept the old one. If I had any issues with the frame aging I would have got rid of the old one. I just had the old one repainted and expect to be riding it in 5yrs.
