Getting a Dahon 3 back on the road

Hi folks,
After looking for one for years, I just picked up a very old Dahon 3 at a barn sale for cheap. The big problem is that it is missing the double-telescoping seat post. Beyond that, I'd like to convert to aluminum rims in the future. If anyone has tips on where to find the seatpost and 28-hole 16" alloy rims, I'd love to know. Thanks!

I have two of these bikes. One for about ten years and another I got last Winter. If you use Google you can find a place for rims. The problem is the rims will cost more than the bike is worth E-Bay is the only place I have seen seat posts and in general there are no parts available for these bikes. The few things that have broken on mine I have had to make myself. For what its worth I wouldn't ride mine more than a couple of miles. They at best are a poor bicycle. Mine are the oldest version from the mid 1980s with the triangulated steering system. Roger
