Speed Uno It is here.

Just got it yesterday from Thor.

Almost like opening a Christmas gift.

Nicely packed

I have talked about this bike enough and nnow I have it. It is a beauty and the best part for me. Simple.

Now to change some things for my liking.

Ooohhh

Interesting how brown works so well with black.

PS what are those bleached spots on your lawn? (I like looking at backgrounds especially other people's garages.)

Amazing how easy the Uno is to ride. I only travel short distances so I may just leave it a single speed.

Isn't she gorgeous to ride?!? I love my Speed UNO too for its simplicity, though I am using the IDG saddle and post from my Mu SL whereas the Mu now has a nicer 2 seat rails saddle and post for longer rides.

I did add a black Dahon Luggage Truss and converted my MEC Shopper Bag with the Dahon luggage adapter to be used with the Dahon. This bag is so much more versatile than the Dahon basket. Black bag goes well with a black bike, so it looks cool! This makes an excellent grocery getter when I visit downtown once a week or when I go to the pool once in awhile, plus the luggage does not interfere with the steering and handling of the bike either!

As for single speed, I may do the 2 speed conversion later since I live in very hilly areas and wouldn't mind something like 30" on the direct drive or 50"+ on overdrive. My issue now is with the shift point on the SRAM A2. Hopefully Bruce can provide a better solution. I'm patient on this.

Other than that, I'm already getting a lot of kudos on this bike more so than my Mu SL. It sure is SEXY and cool and looks much better than the yukky Dahon photo you see on the web!

Here you go! My Dahon Speed Uno Shopper!

The left is my standard shopping configuration with the New York lock at the rear balanced with my shopping bag loaded with grocery or goodies or bike parts whatever.

Note that the bag is a MEC (Mountain Equipment Coop) shopping bag pannier converted using the Dahon bracket you buy separately. This way, I can use this bag with my regular geared bikes if I want to or as a front basket with the Speed Uno.

If you don't mind me asking how much do these run new?

I might look into one of these if my Gotham1 ever breaks on me.

They just jacked the price from a reasonable $379 to $449.

However good deals ($339 new shipped) are sometimes found, if you look around and act quick:
