Thinking of the Dahon Dash P18 or X20

Hey everyone,

I've been thinking of purchasing a new bicycle for some time now and am thinking that I'm finally going to dive in and pick up a Dohan Dash P18. I would prefer the X20 but I can't seem to find anyone that carries it.

I work in Manhattan and live in Brooklym, so the bike would primarily be for commuting and fun..

I was thinking of purchasing a road bike but size and storage are issues, until I discovered that folding bikes exist that are capable of pretty high performance.

Does anyone have any experience with either of these two bikes?

Yeah, the Smooth Hound is nice, but I think that I'm kinda more into the racing vibe of the p18/x20 as opposed to the retro/vintage look of the 'hound.

I would consult Thor to see what will be available when.

You don't want your first choice to be available one week after you buy the second choice ;-)

What a bummer... I'm calling around to a bunch of shops and no one has the P18 in stock... What do you think the chances are of finding a used P18?

I have never seen a P18 for sale used. There is also the Dahon Hammerhead and you may find that used.

You can still buy the Dahon Silvertip new from some online retailers. It is the predecessor to the Dash P18.
