Bike Friday on Amtrak

Is there any need to bag a Bike Friday NWT on the crowded East Coast Amtrak lines? If so, what bag will fit without removing the rear rack?

I would say yes. While the NWT is technically a folding bike, the fold isn't very small. in order to avoid problems, it would be wise to bag it.

As for what bag, not sure. Does BF make a carry bag for the NWT?

What do the regulations say? Personally, it seems prudent and polite to bag the bike.

Check out Bike Friday's youtube videos. I believe you will find a Bike Friday 20" bike being bagged with a rear rack.

I pretty much always bag my folder on trains. I don't know if it is a requirement on Amtrak, but when I take the Lake Shore Limited, for example, my bike ends up packed in with suitcases and, even if allowed, I would not feel comfortable without some sort of cover.
