It looks like it might be Dahon-built. If so, I'm wondering if the handle post assembly, assuming it is a Dahon product, can be modified (turned around?) or replaced with a Dahon radius post assembly, which is what I think it's called, so that it folds down in between the front and rear wheel when fully folded, instead of folding over to the outside of the front wheel?

Othewise, the internal 8 Shiman$o nexus is what I've been waiting for. Someday, they might get around to installing a 11 speed Shimano internal hub for under a $1000.

IIRC this bike was identified as NOT being an OEM Dahon. There is superficial similarity to the Dahon handlepost but closer inspection reveals it's not Dahon.

Jason88 - The Raleigh Folding i8 is not a Dahon product, but it is a pretty nice folder. The 2011 model is white. The 2012 model is black. One significant difference is that the stem on the 2011 model is bolted on at the handlebar while the 2012 model has a quick release similar to the Dahon Revolve(TM?) stem. FWIW, the Dahon Revolve stem seems to fit in the 2011 model and is usually available from www.thorusa.com.
Both the 2011 and 2012 fold with the handlepost between the wheels. The aluminum front fork has "standard" hub spacing, so the folded bike is a bit wider than most Dahon models. I don't know the long-term aspects for the Folding i8. It has only been available for a little over a year. For those who prefer IHGs, the Raleigh Folding i8 is a great value, IMHO.

UPDATE: 06/08/2012 - The 2012 model that we received this week has the handlebar bolted to the stem like the 2011 model. I believe the Dahon Revolve stem will fit the 2012 model.
