Raliegh ID help please.
 

Hello, I picked this up today with some other bicycles and I was wondering if anyone could help ID it. It is badged Raleigh, but I was wondering more about the model, and age of the bike.
I was looking for a folder, but was thinking about something that folded just a bit more that this. Still, I would be curious to learn more about it.

It appears to be a Raleigh Twenty that someone had modified with newer wheels and cranks.

Yup. Also sold as a Raleigh Folder, Shopper, and I think other model names. The most common name was Twenty, though. I'm not sure of the exact years of production, but would guess 1968-1983. You can find copies of Raleigh sales brochures and catalogs online at Retroraleighs.com or some such site which will help you narrow it down. Serial numbers can be checked at The Headbadge, though I'm not sure how much data he has on the Twenties.

The bike certainly seems to have been modified. I'm not sure if there are any other Twenty fixies out there. Fixed really isn't my cup of tea, it has a flip flop hub though, so I'm going to turn it around ride it for a while to see how I like it.
I checked the serial number with the information provided above, and it looks like it is a 1970.

Looks like its a twenty. Apparently people like to modify them. Mine was also modified.

You can always get a 3,5,7,8 speed internally geared hub and install that on the rear.

I converted my R20 to 5 spd and it runs great. Rear cog is 17t so I have more low gear which is what I wanted.
