Dahon D7

Im gonna pick up a new folder towards the end of the month and need a bit of advice. I would like to go used so I am looking at some models that are a few years old but still in nice shape.

I kinda like the D7's but do the models that are 2-3 years old use a cassette or freewheel? I really would prefer a cassette.

The specifications in the Dahon archives listed "cassette" for the 2007 and newer Speed D7, Mariner D7 and Vitesse D7. But that doesn't mean that other D7 models were freewheels. Hope this helps.

Thats helps a bunch Hank. I also wish you were closer to MO. It would be nice to test ride a few bikes and buy new! Looks like you have a really nice shop.

Well, Thor (www.thorusa.com) in Olney, IL, is just a bit further (~340 miles) from Springfield, MO, than Norman, OK (~300 miles). Thor has several more models to test ride, AND he has many of them available for immediate delivery/shipment. We only do in-store sales --- no shipping. We try to keep a good assortment of models for test rides, but not a lot of bikes in inventory for immediate delivery. OTOH, we're only 22 miles from the Oklahoma City airport. So, if you can book a flight with a few hours layover in OKC ... .

Ha ha those are both good ideas. Nothing more fun than a road trip to pick up a new bike!

I could also fly in and ride home! I only have a few weeks of vacation left so that wont work. lol

I have a Dahon D7 2007 and can confirm it is a cassette.
