Old tube question
This is for the vintage riders, I've got a Bickerton 3spd and the front tire's flat. In trying to take the tube out, I notice that it's got a tube with a completely threaded valve stem down to the tube and it's secured at the rim with a rounded bolt...what do you call a bolt without faces? A set-bolt? A thumb-bolt? I think you get the idea.
Can I just replace the original tube with a newer standard valve stem tube? Actually, since the tire is likely original as well from 1976, I should probably replace it as well. :-\ It was sticking to the inside of the rim when I attempted to take the tube out.

Had some old Michelin tubes the stem had a steel plate, inside,
a second one on the outside,
and the ring nut was clamping them together..
had less trust in the bonding of the rubber to the stem, + they
likely were still selling Tubed tires in like Citroen 2CV's wheels..
so had lots of tubes made.

In any case, yes a standard all rubber Schraeder valve (American valve) inner tube can be used on a rim that originally had a steel threaded Schraeder valve (American valve)
