Wanted: Downtube 8H frame (last 2 years)

A bit of a long shot... anybody have a 'spare' 8H frame (Later model with 30.4mm seatpost) to sell? I actually only need the rear half!

My Downtube 8H which I bought in Dec 2009... Frame cracked at the seatpost after about 450 trips / 3800 miles... Same failure point as my
previous NS. I guess I'm too tall and extend it too far and the stresses are too much for the aluminum.

If you've got one PM me with your price & ship to Philadelphia.

Yan has an older one with 27mm seatpost.

Couldn't you buy this one from Yan with the seatpost?

He has no more seatposts. Also since it's not the same model year I'd be worried about the hinge fitting well and being able to move all the parts over "exactly".

A lady in my neighborhood is selling her 2009 Downtube 8H for $275, if you're interested in the whole bike. It's in like-new condition as she hasn't ridden it much at all.

thanks for the info. Yesterday I pulled the trigger & ordered a new bike (details when I get it).

I may try to find someone who can weld aluminum and see if I can fix the old bike enough to be a light duty "beater" folder -- trust enough to ride around the neighborhood but not enough to ride down my commuting hill at 35 MPH.
