Hmm,
I've been seeing these in London stores recently and wondered what was known about them. I thought I'd search here, and found your posting. That's a pretty serious message for a £500-£900 bike.
Anyone own one?

Hmm, for some reason I'm suddenly curious about this bike.
Accordint to this video one of them is a clone of the Dahon Uno.
And they are recalling all of them? Have Dahon ever had similar problems?

Hmmmm I looked at the video and the frame looks the same as Dahon but the latches are not the same at all.
Dahons have a double locking feature in case of failure so the backup wouldn't allow the first latch to unhinge unless you mean it. This applies to the handlebars as well as frame latch. But looking at the Kansi video all he did was just a slight yank and the hinge disconnected! Yeah I think they're going to put some backup locking system on them now cause any accidental kick and you are looking at it collapsing.

In response to the posts above regarding the kansi recall we wanted to share with you information on this direct from kansi.
This week we made the difficult decision to voluntarily recall the kansi bikes. We were made aware of two isolated frame quality issues and although the bikes exceed CEN testing we decided that in the best interest of our valued customers we would proceed with a recall. It has been implied that this is a frame hinge problem however this is not the case.
We are working hard to get the bikes back on the market as quickly and efficiently as possible and if anyone has any questions please feel free to get in contact with us at info@kansi.co.uk. You can also find information regarding the recall and our progress on www.kansi.co.uk
Regarding our bikes, we are often compared to Dahon, and there has been some speculation that a kansi is merely a rebranded Dahon. This is in fact not true, although there are noticeable similarities, kansi bikes have been designed in the UK by a group of like minded riders who wanted a folding bike they would want to ride. Simple changes to geometry and extending the wheel base make kansi bikes ride like a normal bike.
Please get in contact with us if you have any further questions, we love hearing from our customers and welcome all types of feedback.
Many thanks

Well Done Kansi on choosing the sensible option to recall, it shows your long term commitment.
I hope you can get your bikes back in the road soon.
