Montague MX

Is the Montague MX Mountain Folding Bike a good bike? Has anyone owned one or know of the general response to this bike. I'm looking at a couple on Craigslist, but I'm new to the folding scene so I don't know brand/model reputations. Any and all advise is appreciated!

Montagues are large-wheeled folders with an excellent reputation. They are very versatile and take regular components too. If you get a good deal you can easily upgrade it. I think that is an older model but they frames always have good integrity. This review link might help:

Thanks for the response! There are a couple of Craigslist right now for $200 and $225 - would you say that's a good deal? If you had to choose between a Montague MX for $225, a 26" Folding Shimano Mountain Bike for $160, a Fuji folding bike for $100-$150, or a Stowabike 26" Folding Dual Suspension Mountain Bike for $200, which would you choose? I guess, bottom-line is that I'm looking for a cheap but good quality (doesn't have to be great - just for relaxed recreational purposes) full size folder.

$200-ish is a very good deal for a Montague MX. I usually see modern Montagues going for $300-400 or more. I would definitely choose that over the other bikes you mentioned.
