Looks great! Glad that you are enjoying it - out of my price range but they are great bikes!

What a nice tour you did. Impressive bike for load carrying and its versatility!

jeffvas,

Nice report - good pics, too. We rode the carriage trails of Acadia Nat. Park on our Pocket 8's in 2010. I weigh-in at at a bit over 200lbs, and my large-sized, stock Friday with the 1.75" tires was really great on the 20 mies we did on those trails (per my GPS). Wife, then aged 66, also felt very comfortable with her Med. sized Pocket 8.

I like that really 'low-key' Kris King headset, too.

Another bike friday lover here, next friday we are off to greece, italy, croatia, spain and portugal for 6 weeks with our pocket sports. Cant wait!!

heavy rider Pocket Llama frame is a whole lot easier to lock up , parked,
because of it's triangle main frame.

Yup, I always worry about locking the Pocket Rocket. There doesn't seem to be an easy way.

Any bright ideas, peoples?

There is a space between the kickstand place and the bottom bracket that is entirely enclosed. I stick a u-lock through there and the wheel ala Sheldon Brown to lock the bike.

I loop a cable lock - could also be a U-lock - thru the rear wheel and one chain-stay or seat-stay.

Another Bike Friday lover here! Last weekend I climbed Monitor Pass and Mt. Rose via the steep Country Club Drive on my Pocket Companion. I am always impressed with the climbing ability of this bike!

Last year I climbed some of San Francisco's steepest hills with the Bike Friday. I made it up all of them except the 38% Broderick Street.

My first couple of rides with this bike were also on steep hills, and there was a blog entry from a road cyclist who didn't like being passed by a "folding travel bike".

I am so impressed with the climbing ability of this bike that I'm almost convinced that it climbs better than my low-end Specialized Dolce Triple road bike. I put MTB gearing on that bike, and replaced the stock 30t small chainring on the Bike Friday with a 24t, but the Bike Friday has the lowest gearing of all my bikes, even my mountain bikes.

The only problem I had was that the bottom of the derailleur cage was rubbing on the tire sidewall when I was in the largest cog in the back. I replaced the stock 1.75 tire with a 1.5, but the problem persisted. I adjusted the limit screw so now there is no rubbing, but now I can't use the lowest gear. I'll have to adjust it some more. It worked properly on one ride, but now it's back to not staying in first gear.

yea, but it would be back in the build, a tube{stainless)
crossways pierced thru the boom tube. TIG bead around the edge
to run a lock thru.. ,

YES! I have 5 bikes and really don't need the other 4 since I got my Pocket Llama one a half years ago. It does everything well. An amazing piece of engineering and quality construction. Worth every penny. (about 280,000 of them.)
